Chilling legacy of GM bailout: 'We are all socialists now' - Vancouver Sun

Your share, by the way, is about $300, or $1,200 for a family of four, all on the government's credit card, to be paid with interest through your taxes.

Harper called the deal "regrettable, but necessary" given the alternatives.

Regrettable? We spend $10 billion and all we get is regrettable? The GM bailout is certainly a deal that taxpayers may regret. Harper held out little hope of recovering much of the money from the sale of the roughly 12 per cent ownership of the new GM that Ontario and Canada will get in return for our billions.

Well, I for one, did not vote for Harper, never did, never will, but I wonder, I do wonder, if you done?

You're wondering how I voted? Yes, I'm sure I voted conservative. I do understand, he is taking a cetre stand as opposed to a conservative stand, in order to survive. Do I like it? No.

We have no real consevative choise in Canada. It's either left of centre, or far left/socialist. And one day it will catch up to us and we shall pay the price, just like every other socialst state that fails...
