This graphic shows spending habits by age group. Notice how the 45 - 54 year olds spend the most on big ticket items. We know the numbers of this age group will fall starting in 2013 to 2025. Therefore - we also know the economy will contract then as well. It happened in the 1930's. It happened it Japan in the 1990's. And soon, it will happen in the U.S. and Canada.
