This is the latest recreational activity/specatator sport for the sons of oil sheiks in Saudi Arabia.
"Drifting" is when an young male accelerates his expensive euro luxury car to top speed and then deliberately puts the car into a semi conrolled skid and "drifts" across the pavement. Other males stand around watching and filming the out of control vehicles. A pretty destructive use gasoline and resources during an energy crisis...
